AAPC HealthCon 2025

For those of you who attended AAPC HealthCon 2025 in Orlando this year—what an amazing four days it was! The energy was high, the weather was perfect, and the event was packed with incredible opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for something special. There were professionals from all over the country—coders, auditors, compliance experts, billing professionals—each one bringing their own experience and perspective to the table. And let’s not forget the sunshine—beautiful, sunny Florida was the perfect backdrop for it all.
One of the biggest highlights was the incredible amount of knowledge shared throughout the event. Between the keynote speaker, expert panels, breakout sessions, and informal conversations, there were so many “aha” moments. Some of the best tidbits I took away from the presentations included:
• Be confident in your competence.
• WAIT = Why am I talking?
• Keep and set boundaries. Your calendar is YOUR time.
• “Think in ink” – if it’s not documented, it didn’t happen.
• We are advisors. Our job is to relay information to the provider—it’s up to them to decide to use it.
These insights may seem simple, but they really stuck with me and have already influenced the way I approach my day-to-day work. Sometimes we get so caught up in the routine that we forget to step back and reassess how we’re working, communicating, and prioritizing our time.
The vendor floor was another highlight—so many exciting new technologies and tools designed to help streamline our processes and support compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. It’s always inspiring to see innovation in action and think about how we can bring some of those ideas back to our teams.
If you’ve never been to a HealthCon, I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you’re new to the field or a seasoned pro, there’s something valuable for everyone. You’ll walk away with new skills, new connections, and a renewed passion for the important work we do.
Hope to see you next year in Dallas!
